"As you decrease the level of fat, you can increase the risk of neurological diseases. Over 25 percent of the brain is fatty tissue. The author stresses : "That is why low-fat diets are not very healthy for the brain or nervous system. I don't mind higher fat diets if it's the right type of fats like omega-3 fats from fish oils or algae. Or monounsaturated fats like olive oil which are much more healthy for the brain than saturated fats from animal food which harden the brain cells very rigid, it hampers informaton from being passed from one cell to the other."
