Introducing Mangosteen, the Queen of Fruits
August 6th 2007 09:52
The mangosteen fruit, or Garcinia Mangostana, originated in the islands of Sunda and Molucca, in Southeast Asia. The fruit is composed of the rind, the pulp and the seeds. Independent researchers who have studied the phytonutrients found in the mangosteen reported that the whole frui is a good source of xanthones, a unique class of biologically active compound possessing potent antioxidant properties . The highest concentration of xanthones are said to reside in the fruit's pericarp, which includes the rind and the pulp.
Research has shown that xanthones may help maintain intestinal health, strengthen one's immune system, support cartilage and joint flexibility and deliver positive mental support. The mangosteen fruit is introduced to the marketplace through a food supplement Xango Juice, made from the puree of the whole fruit. Those who have been regularly taking this supplement have claimed it's energizing power which put them back on the road to good health.
