Have A Good Night Sleep
Exercise, Balance Diet…What’s next? Another interesting fact about having a healthy and physically fit body is a good night sleep. Many individual who are struggling their weight are failing to recognize that getting a good night’s sleep is crucial to staying healthy and of course slim.
Dr. Neil Stanley a known Sleep Researcher says: “lack of good sleep, especially during early night can cause “hunger hormones” to malfunction. If this thing happen, person will experience an increase in appetite—along with an inability to recognize when they have enough to eat and as well as persistent sugar cravings. These cravings cause an initial sugar rush and then a sugar low. This will lead to poor sleep, which further dents their resolve to eat healthy” His remarks come as new survey exposes that nearly 80 percent of those questioned wanted to lose weight but 74 percent didn’t view getting a good night’s sleep as priority.
There is now convincing facts that relate lack sleep with weight increase. This was first discovered in a current study made by Eve Van Cauter, an endocrinologist from the University of Chicago. She found out that not getting enough sleep for at least 6 hours a day can cause the two hormones connected with appetite to not functioning properly. Again in her study, a few numbers of healthy young people were allowed to sleep for only four hours a night. The results, after just two nights their hormones were found malfunctioning. Levels of Ghrelin, which is accountable for stimulating appetite, fat production and body growth, had increased by 28% which made the men hungrier than normal.
On the other hand, levels of Leptin, which is in charge for regulating food ingestion and signals that the body has had sufficient to eat, had dropped also by 18% which made it more difficult for the men to recognize when their hunger had been satisfied. Their cravings for caloric, high-carbohydrate foods—such as sweets, biscuits, crisps, bread and pasta – had also increased radically.
Since then, some research studies were made to authenticate the link between lack of sleep and weight gain. The increase of appetite caused by not sleeping enough could cause almost a thousand extra calories a day. There is now compelling evidence that links lack sleep with weight gain.
So folks, it’s always better to take good care of our health. Let’s maintain a physically fit body. Exercise, eat right and on time (balance diet) and try to have a good night’s sleep.
Until next time….
