Their study followed 32 participants over a 10-day study period. Each day, participants consumed either two servings of mushrooms or two servings of ground beef. Those who ate mushrooms for breakfast felt significantly fuller than those who ate meat for breakfast. These findings build on research conducted by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, which found that mushrooms can even lead to weight loss when substituted for meat.
In addition to staving off hunger pangs, mushrooms provide a vast array of other dietary benefits. They’re low in calories and packed with vital nutrients, such as Vitamin D, fiber, selenium, and antioxidants.
